For Timbers Resorts

Voted the Number One Resort in Europe and the Number Two Best Hotel in the World by Travel + Leisure.

Historically known as Querceto, or ‘Land of the Oaks’, owing to hundreds of surrounding oak trees, the property is a forty-one suite hotel and resort on an historic estate in the Tuscan countryside. A Cypress-lined drive leads to a fully restored Tuscan castle, parts of which date back to the 10th century. The hotel itself is located at the highest point on the property, and offers commanding views of the landscape in all directions. Dotting the surrounding hills are 28 meticulously restored farmhouses that complete the 4,200 acre estate. The hotel grounds include a stunning glass-tiled swimming pool with expansive sun terrace, a fitness center and a classic Italian garden.

Additionally, there are two restaurants on the property, including the acclaimed restaurant Tosca, which features opulent comfort accented by vaulted ceilings and hand-set stone arches. The outdoor dining terrace is perfectly situated to fully capture the amazing Tuscan sunsets, served by the classically styled bar, Visconti, named after the italian film director and former owner of the estate. Many of the original features of the castle have been reimagined, such as the world-class spa that was built into the grottos be-low the former monks quarters.

Throughout the property the design made use of traditional methods and reclaimed materials, including timber beams, terra cotta and ceramic tiles. Each suite is decorated with hand-selected custom and antique European furnishings, and features generously sized bathrooms complete with soaking tub and rain shower, some with private terraces and fireplaces.
