Built in 1986 in Basalt's Elk Run subdivision, this one story 1,145 sf home was bought by a professional couple with an eye towards its potential. The house was a built from one of only a handful of plans proliferated throughout the development, and therefore lacked any unique identity relative to the neighborhood.
With a fantastic location backing up to Arbaney Park and the local swimming pool, as well as short walk to town, the clients needed to expand the house as they started a family. They nearly doubled the size of their home via a second story addition, a pop-out in the back-yard, and a complete interior remodel The result is a fantastic home that stands out as a contemporary gem in the neighborhood.
