Greg graduated with a Bachelor's of Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1996. After graduation, he worked for firms in Boston, MA and Richmond, VA. He left his hometown and moved to Asheville, NC in 1998. For seventeen years his primary focus was on traditional architecture before switching gears to more contemporary design after joining KA DesignWorks in February of 2016.

His expertise has been mostly concentrated in high-end custom residential design, focusing mainly on traditional French and English styles of architecture. He has spent much of his his career pushing the technological boundaries of BIM (Building Information Modeling) in an attempt to seamlessly integrate design and construction. Greg is not only proficient in architectural modeling programs such as ArchiCAD, but is also a large advocate for the visualization of these detailed 3D models to provide our clients with a deeper understanding of not only their finished project but of the process of turning vision into reality.

He shares an apartment with his feline sidekick, Curtis, thriving in the heart of downtown Asheville. His daughter Eva is currently in school, earning her degree at Appalachian State University. With a Eva away at college, Greg spends the majority of his free time playing disc golf, serving as keeper on his soccer team, and (in tradition of many true North Carolinian's) smoking the best BBQ around.

Born and raised outside of Minneapolis, the incredible architecture and design program and gorgeous campus at Virginia Tech quickly had Laura packing her bags and driving cross-country to call Blacksburg, Virginia her new ‘home.’ In her time at school, Laura developed her skills and knowledge though many specialized interior design courses. She also spent a summer abroad studying the architecture in and around Florence, Italy and a summer interning alongside a retail design team for a firm in Cincinnati, Ohio. Laura recently obtained her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Virginia Tech in May of 2017.

The newest member of the KA DesignWorks team, Laura joined us in June of 2017! She is a passionate designer and problem solver, motivated by the ebb and flow of the creative process. Her knowledge of interiors will bring new perspective and depth to our team. Laura is a member of IIDA and is currently working towards her NCIDQ certification.

On weekends, you won’t find Laura at home. Eager to see it all and lucky enough to have friends scattered all over the country (who let her crash on their couches), she’s always searching for a new place to visit and experience. At any time, you may find her exploring the local urban scene, shopping at a flea market or boutique (her ‘guilty pleasure’), or seeking out some water (thanks to her Minnesota roots) to paddleboard, kayak, or just read a book by.
